What Is The Lay Organization?
The Lay Organization is composed of lay church members with the purpose of instilling a love and appreciation for the history, tradition and principles of African Methodism, advocating the support of the total program of the local church.

The Lay Organization of Smith Chapel A.M.E. Church sponsored a Fellowship Supper on May 4, 2001. The theme was "Now You Belong." II Timothy 2:15 - Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
