CONFIRMATION SUNDAY TO BE HELD JUNE 10, 2001
Smith Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church will confirm five candidates on June 10, 2001. The Confirmation Instructor is Bro. D. Finch. Candidates to be confirmed are: Catherine Browne, Kandice Franklin, Melody Guinn, Jaleesa Hunt and Darius Nolley-Hammond.


Bro. David Finch
The Confirmation Instructor is Bro. David Finch. Bro. Finch is the Superintendent of the Sunday School Dept. at Smith Chapel A.M.E. Church and serves on the Trustee Board. Bro. Finch is also the Assistant Superintendent of the Sunday School Dept. for the Greater Dallas District.
Catherine Browne
Catherine attended R.L. Thornton Elementary School and will be attending O.W. Holmes Classical Academy in the fall. Catherine was Parliamentarian of the Student Council, member of the band (clarinet), Voices of Inspiration, TAG and Cheerleader. Catherine is an "A" honor roll student. Catherine is a member of the Young People's Department and J. R. Anderson Youth Choir at Smith Chapel A.M.E. Church. Catherine aspires to be a lawyer.
Kandice Franklin
Kandice is a student at Truman Middle School. She is a Trojan Cheerleader, plays the in the band (clarinet), on the "B" honor roll, as well as active in the Smith Chapel Sunday School, YPD and J. R. Anderson Choir.
Melody Guinn
Melody will be attending Permenter Middle School as a 7th grader in the fall, participating in the symphonic band (clarinet), basketball, volleyball and the reading club. Melody was on the "A-B" honor roll throughout the entire school year. Melody's favorite Bible verse is John 3:16. Melody hopes to one day own a hotel and art gallery.

Jaleesa Hunt
Jaleesa attends Lancaster Intermediate School and will be in the 6th grade in the fall. Jaleesa is on the "A-B" honor roll and has perfect attendance. Jaleesa's hobbies are volleyball and track. Jaleesa's favorite subjects are reading, language and spelling. Jaleesa is an active member of the Smith Chapel A.M.E. Church YPD, Sunday School, Choralaires and J. R. Anderson Choir.
Darius Nolley-Hammond
Darius will be attending Lancaster Junior High School as an 8th grader. Darius is on the "A-B" honor roll. Darius is an active participant in football, soccer and band (trumpet). Darius is also a member of the Smith Chapel A.M.E. Church Young People's Department and Sunday School.
